Dear Monica: It seems like there has been a summer lull with not much new inventory. Does the market data confirm this? Ellen B.
Dear Ellen: The months of July and the first half of August have been slower as people took vacations and generally took a pause from buying and selling real estate. Local schools are starting this week and already you can see more cars on the streets and people in shops. Colleges are opening soon, and their fall semesters will begin.
Once the summer ends and people have returned, there should be more properties coming on the market. As always, pricing is key to whether it sells quickly or lingers.
