Dear Kathy: Both the rental market and the selling market are fine but a bit flat right now. If you have been a landlord for a while you have no doubt been following the new rent control laws coming in 2020. Most single-family homes and condos are exempt for now so you may not be affected. If you are not sure about this, the best advice would be to consult an attorney who understands the changes and can provide you with the updated forms you might need. The laws vary depending on the city or county so it’s best to know the rules.
