Looking Back and Ahead

This is my last column of 2021 and it’s a good time to sum up this real estate year and make some projections for the new year. If you were trying to buy a home this year, you saw prices rise considerably and in the most popular price ranges, you probably had to compete with other buyers trying to buy the same property. It has not been an easy year for buyers. Typically the buying season slows down after Thanksgiving but not this year. Many sellers have decided not to wait until January to list their homes and in the past few weeks, there have been more sales than usual at this time of year. Single-family homes below $4 million are the most in-demand. Condos and townhouses are beginning to sell as well, after months of flat sales.

So relax, take some time off, and be ready to begin again in January. Best wishes and be well.
