How to Make a 1970s House Look Fabulous

Dear Monica: I am selling my house which was built in the 1970s and has been well cared for but no major updates. What would attract buyers to my house? Kristen G.

Dear Kristen: I am a believer in staging ,especially when done with distinction. The stager we rely on most often usually paints cabinets, not always in white, but often in a good color. New paint and carpeting are essential and if there are worn wood floors, refinish them. The furniture is important but especially the accessories. Lamps too can warm a room.

The photography is the final touch that is so important. Buyers are seeing everything online so visuals are important. With good prep and pricing, buyers will respond well.
