Dear Monica: I’m getting my house ready to sell next year and wondering if I should upgrade my older electrical panel.  What do you recommend?  Francis F.

Dear Francis:  Electricity has become more important as cities are requiring more electric appliances and the use of electric vehicles is increasing.  If you have an older panel, it may not be large enough to accommodate these increases.   It would be wise to upgrade your panel and it may also be a good time to increase the number of amps you have.  It may take time for the public utility to increase your service and it’s a good idea to start now.
